SUMMARY:6th B Cell Winter School
DESCRIPTION:The annual B cell winter school of the IRTG TRR130 is a 5-3-day long research retreat. It gives the PhD students the possibility to present and critically discuss their thesis projects and is one of the most important intercity activities. DESCRIPTION:Auch in diesem Jahr ist die Firmenkontaktmesse ScieCon zu Gast in München. Organisiert wird die ScieCon von der Biotechnologischen Studenteninitiative (btS) e.V. und lädt zur bereits 30. Ausgabe am Donnerstag\, den 25.10.18 von 10-17 Uhr ins Foyer des Biozentrums auf dem Campus Planegg-Martiensried ein. \nScieCon – die Firmenkontaktmesse der Biotechnologischen Studenteninitiative (btS) e.V.\, die sich speziell an Studenten\, Doktoranden und Absolventen aus dem Bereich der Life Sciences richtet. Zusammen mit dem Netzwerk der btS und deren Veranstaltungen bietet die ScieCon eine perfekte Verbindung zwischen Industrie und Hochschullandschaft. \nAn Berufseinsteiger gerichtet meint die bts dazu: “Auf dem Gelände des Campus Martinsried habt Ihr die Chance\, eine Vielzahl an Firmen aus dem Bereich der Life Siciences kennenzulernen. Von Kleinen über Mittelständige bis zu den „Big Playern“ ist alles vertreten. \nNutzt die Chance und kommt direkt ins Gespräch mit den Firmenvertretern und erkundigt Euch über Eure Perspektiven abseits der gängigen Wege nach dem Studium und der Promotion. Vielleicht findet Ihr ja Euren zukünftigen Arbeitgeber/Traumjob oder Ihr entdeckt für Euch bisher unbekannte Möglichkeiten\, für Euer späteres Berufsleben? \nNeben den Firmenständen ist auch ein buntes Rahmenprogramm geplant\, darunter Altbekanntes wie ein kostenlose Bewerbungs-Fotoshooting und einen Lebenslaufcheck\, aber auch Vorträge und eine Podiumsdiskussion erwarten Euch.” \nDie Clusterorganisation BioM konnte die Veranstaltungen an verschiedenen Stellen unterstützen und freut sich über die gute Resonanz bei den Unternehmen. DESCRIPTION:The Autumn School “Current Concepts in Immunology (CCII)” will be an up-to-date educational journey through the immune system for everyone including STUDENTS (bachelor\, master\, diploma\, 1st year PhD and MD doctoral students)\, POSTDOCS and GROUP LEADERS with a background in natural sciences or medicine. The program includes lectures by internationally renowned experts\, student presentations as well as interactive sessions to meet the speakers and to foster networking within our immunological community. \nApplications are accepted primarily from students\, postdocs and group leaders working in laboratories in Germany. However\, we will reserve some spaces for students working in a lab outside of Germany. DESCRIPTION:The Autumn School “Current Concepts in Immunology (CCII)” will be an up-to-date educational journey through the immune system for everyone including STUDENTS (bachelor\, master\, diploma\, 1st year PhD and MD doctoral students)\, POSTDOCS and GROUP LEADERS with a background in natural sciences or medicine. The program includes lectures by internationally renowned experts\, student presentations as well as interactive sessions to meet the speakers and to foster networking within our immunological community. \nApplications are accepted primarily from students\, postdocs and group leaders working in laboratories in Germany. However\, we will reserve some spaces for students working in a lab outside of Germany. Im Rahmen des Tags der Immunologie ermöglichen Wissenschaftler der Friedrich-Alexander- Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) und des Universitätsklinikums Erlangen Einblicke ins Gefecht zwischen Immunsystem und Krankheitserregern. Am Samstag\, 30. April\, von 10 bis 16 Uhr\, bieten sie mitten in Erlangen\, am Hugenottenplatz\, ein spannendes und abwechslungsreiches Programm und informieren über alle Aspekte rund um das Thema Immunologie. \nJeden Tag schützt das Immunsystem den menschlichen Körper vor Milliarden von Keimen\, ohne dass wir es merken. Nur wenn es uns einmal im Stich lässt\, schenken wir ihm Aufmerksamkeit. Am Tag der Immunologie präsentieren junge Wissenschaftler der FAU und des Uniklinikums Erlangen für jeden verständlich die Geheimnisse der menschlichen Abwehr gegen Krankheitserreger. Dabei gibt es nicht nur Interessantes rund um die Bereiche Infektion und Impfung zu erfahren. Vielmehr können alle Besucher selbst spielerisch entdecken\, wie das Immunsystem den menschlichen Körper gegen Eindringlinge von außen verteidigt. Speziell für Kinder gibt es die Möglichkeit\, an Mitmach-Stationen die Welt der menschlichen Abwehr zu erkunden. Dabei können sie attraktive Preise gewinnen. (Auch das Bayerische Rote Kreuz ist mit Ständen vertreten und ermöglicht vor Ort verschiedene Gesundheitsuntersuchungen an.) \nDie Abteilung für Molekulare Immunologie an der Medizinischen Klinik 3 des Uni-Klinikums Erlangen\, das Graduiertenkolleg 1660 („Schlüsselsignale der adaptiven Immunantwort“ und das Integrierte Graduiertenkolleg des Transregio 130 „B-cells and beyond“ (Leiter Prof. Dr. Hans-Martin Jäck) des Universitätsklinikums Erlangen und der Friedrich-Alexander- Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg organisieren wie schon in den Vorjahren den diesjährigen Tag der Immunologie. \nZiel des europaweiten Tags der Immunologie ist\, das Augenmerk der Entscheidungsträger aus Wissenschaft und Forschung auf dieses für die Volksgesundheit so wichtige Fachgebiet innerhalb der Medizin und Biologie zu lenken. Außerdem soll die Öffentlichkeit Einblick in die aktuelle Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Immunabwehr erhalten und in diesem Jahr im Speziellen über die Wichtigkeit von Impfungen aufgeklärt werden.
